As Sunna rises ever higher in the sky, and the ground slowly begins to thaw, we begin to till the mighty fecund Earth in preparation for the planting of new crops. Thanks is given for the past crops which sustained us through the cold, dark winter months. Blessings are bestowed upon Nerthus for the crops we hope she might bear. Traditionally, plows are blessed, and small loafs of bread made from the flour of the prior years harvest would be tilled into the soil as an offering to coax the Earth back into fertility. This is a time to ponder on Goddesses such as Nerthus and Gefjion. Gods like Freyr and Thor. Join us at the Hof to celebrate this tradition, prepare our lands, both physical and spiritual, for the seeds which might plant for a successful harvest in this coming year.
